Community Coalition Partnership (CCP)
The Community Coalition Partnership is a program that partners with a local coalition to address substance use issues which affect youth and young adults such as uderage drinking, marijuana, tobacco & nicotine products, prescription drug misuse, and behavioral health promotion. The Council's CCP is partnered with the Taylor Alliance for Prevention (TAP).
TAP was formed to create healthier and safer communities. The coalition serves the population of Taylor County—this includes the communities of Abilene, Buffalo Gap, Lawn, Tuscola, Merkel, and Trent.

TAP was formed to create healthier and safer communities. The coalition serves the population of Taylor County—this includes the communities of Abilene, Buffalo Gap, Lawn, Tuscola, Merkel, and Trent.
The coalition is designed to reduce youth access to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs by:
- Increasing community awareness of the legal and health consequences of substance use;
- Mobilizing Taylor County citizens to make institutional and policy changes;
- Working with law enforcement and local businesses to improve enforcement of existing laws; and
- Improving the overall health of the community through behavioral health promotion activities and media campaigns.
